About the Chefolio Journal

The Chefolio Journal is written by the team behind Chefolio, an app that turns everyday food photos into images for menus, delivery listings, and social posts. Chefolio is made by Rolling Digits Limited.

We write for people who cook for a living and take their own photos: home bakers, café and restaurant owners, caterers, food truck operators, and the social media managers who work with them. Most of what we publish is practical. How to light a plate at a window. What each delivery app wants from a menu photo. How to lay out a price list, or answer a customer who sends you an AI cake picture.

How we research and write

We start with primary sources whenever we can: the delivery platforms' own merchant help pages, Google's documentation, original studies, and first-hand accounts from bakers and restaurant owners. We link to them in the article. For anything that changes often, like platform photo rules or app prices, we say when we checked.

We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. A person on our team edits every article, checks the facts and links against the sources, and decides what gets published. When a rule changes or we get something wrong, we update the article and its date.

How we edit photos

Chefolio is built to change the background and light around food, not the food itself. We hold our own photos to the same rule. Any edited photo on this blog is labeled, and we don't show AI-generated food as if it were real.

When we mention Chefolio

We make Chefolio, and it comes up in our articles, usually near the end. We try to be plain about what it can and can't do. When we compare it with other tools, we use their public information and note the date we checked.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, please let us know. When we confirm an error, we fix it and update the article.
